Dogs are incredibly sensitive animals who can often pick up on subtle emotional cues that humans can’t.
Some experts say that dogs know when they’re being mocked and that they’re capable of feeling some form of shame or embarrassment. That seems to be the case with “Good Boy Ollie,” a golden retriever with a large Instagram following and an even larger personality!
Recently, he had a minor surgery that required him to wear an Elizabethan “E” collar, or “cone of shame,” during his recovery. According to his owner, Alex, Ollie was visibly bummed out by his new fashion accessory.
“Ollie was just really sad with the cone on,” said Alex. “He just moped around and was feeling really sorry for himself.”
Alex’s dad must have noticed Ollie’s mood, too, because the next time she entered the living room, she found her dad sitting next to Ollie on the couch — both of them wearing E collars!
Naturally, Alex couldn’t miss out on sharing this hilarious scene with her followers. She posted the video online along with the caption, “Is it just my dad? Not my dad wearing a cone to make my dog feel less lonely after his surgery.” The video went viral, and even more people fell in love with Ollie (and Alex’s dad, we imagine!).
