“Humerus” Carpenter Hides Eerie Surprise For Future Home Remodelers To Discover.

fake skeleton hidden inside kitchen cabinets

When you decide to start ripping apart floors and walls in your home, you never know what you might find.

As Lead Carpenter for a Missouri remodeling company called Callier & Thompson, Cole Henderson has discovered lots of funny “Easter eggs” left behind by previous residents.

“We did a job not that long ago on a house that was built in the late 1800s, early 1900s, and there was a newspaper inside the wall,” said Cole’s boss, Bob Strate.

The finds always made Cole smile. He once saw a meme online about someone leaving a fake skeleton inside the walls of new construction to freak out future residents who decide to remodel, and he vowed to pull off his own skeleton prank when the opportunity presented itself.

On a recent new-home build, the time was finally right!

After asking for the homeowner’s permission, Cole went to the store and purchased a faux skeleton he named Skelly. He decided to add some clothing, his work uniform, to add some extra authenticity to Skelly’s look. When he got home, his toddler son Adrian immediately adopted Skelly as his new BFF.

“The day that I went and picked up the skeleton and brought him home, my 3-year-old son basically made friends with the skeleton the night before I took him to the job site,” Cole recalled.

Adrian spent the evening watching TV and eating snacks with Skelly. A fitting send-off for what could be a long time spent alone.

The next day, Cole placed the skeleton inside an unused section of kitchen cabinetry. No one will ever find it unless they decide to remodel the kitchen, which could be decades in the future. Cole isn’t worried. He’s in this thing for the long haul!

“I’m looking forward to 30 years from now, seeing this on the news, sitting back in my chair and laughing,” Cole said.

Can you imagine finding something like this hidden inside your home? What a hilarious, yet harmless, prank! Hopefully whoever finds it enjoys it as much as we do.
