Isaiah Bird may be the happiest kid on the planet. He approaches life with a passion that few people ever attain and has never, ever given up on his dreams.
The thing is, Isaiah isn’t the same as everyone else.
The 6-year-old wrestler was born with a rare genetic disorder that left him without legs. Even with his difficulty, this pint-sized hero wrestles with the best of them.
I have no legs, but I don’t need legs. I’m a wrestler, I’m a gladiator, I’m stronger than anybody! – Isaiah
If the daunting disorder wasn’t enough, Isaiah lives at a homeless shelter with his mother and 1-year-old brother. They can’t afford a wheelchair, so Isaiah gets around on his hands, though he’s gotten pretty good at it.
Life isn’t easy for Isaiah, but he has a few things going for him. A mother that encourages him unconditionally, and real talent on the wrestling mat.
Isaiah won so many matches last year that he qualified for the state tournament! Keep your eye on this kid, we’re gonna be hearing big things about him soon.
